Pressure is applied in a variety of ways including thumbs, bunched fingers and elbows. Shiatsu treatment produces a state of muscular relaxation of both mind and body. This method consists of applying pressure to certain parts of the body with the thumb, palms and fingers in order to adjust irregularities of the body, to promote the maintenance of general good health and to promote healing by stimulating the body’s natural powers of recuperation, and eliminating fatigue-producing elements.
